Never even responded To my request for quote
From the very beginning of the project through its completion, I received nothing but professional, courteous and excellent workmanship from Brothers Sheet Metal. Working with Ralph Flores was a pleasure. The craftmanship, professionalism and courtesy of his crew were outstanding. The price was economical. And the contact-free service was greatly appreciated. Highest recommendation.
“Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule in writing a review we greatly apperciate it. Thank you for giving us the opportunity in serviing you”
they never contacted me so i used somebody else.
“Our apoligies due to the overload in email service request we missed your email .”
I had a very difficult time with this company. They do not return my calls, and finally I happened to get someone on the phone to schedule an appointment. The appointment was not confirmed or kept, and when I called the morning of the appointment, no one answered. Grade F. They are not interested in my business.
[Member Name Removed] so sorry due to the overload with the rains we are currently three weeks back logged on appointments. I know you wanted a Saturday appointment but this appointment was never confirmed with you I apologize to you on the phone this morning. Please call us back if you cannot get someone out there sooner. Thank you RF
Went fine. Wish they had completed some minor repairs that could have been done.
Excellent. Completed on time. Very professional
Their guys picked up the wrong work order on the day they were to come to our place at 8AM. I thought they might be stuck in traffic so waited about 1.5 hours. When I called their office, was told they got the wrong work order since there was a holiday earlier that week. Was told they would be arriving the next day at 8AM but they did not. Called their office at 8:30 to hear they were stuck in traffic. They did not show until 9AM. They could have called me to say they’d be late. I was upset because I do not live at this site so had to travel to get there at 8AM. Otherwise, the work looked good.
Hi [Member Name Removed] thank you so much for taking the time in writing a review. greatly appreciate it! and again my apologies on arriving late. Glad we where able to get it done before the painters. Thanks again! RF
Great. Ralph runs a tight ship. They are pros and the work ethic is outstanding as is the work itself.
“Hi [Member Name Removed] thanks for taking the time from your busy schedule in writing a review. This gutter installation was a difficult one! definitely rank in the top 8 in difficulty but we love challenges. Thanks again for the opportunity. RF”
Great, they are pro’s and I would not call another company for any services.
They were good. I am not sure who I am going to use, I am not having the work done until June next year. They came when they said they would. They spent adequate time assessing the damage. He took measurements and did all the things you’re suppose to and got back to me. I think it was a good price, I have to coordinate with my insurance company. It seemed reasonable for the work needed. I did not have to wait very long for them to come out for the estimate. It’s always nice when people show up.
The person who came to my home to portray the quote was on time. He was very professional and he seemed very knowledgeable about the work. I had a good experience.
Excellent job
Couldn’t be happier. Excellent service, quality and price.

Called Brothers Sheet Metal. Spoke with a female and told her what I needed. Ralph called me back the next day or two and sent me a quote via email based on our discussion. Based on the reviews and price, I decided to move forward and scheduled a time for work to be completed. They came on time and the guys were very courteous. I made a mistake on my overall description of the job and they told me what they recommended. I agreed and a price adjustment was made and the work completed. It was completed very nicely and professionally. I had a leak issue on the front unit and they were willing to fix it at no additional cost. Thank you! The job looks great!
Ralph came out to my home to provide a quote for seamless gutters. He suggested I consider bonderized steel as the colors available for seamless gutters weren’t a perfect match to my house and because he thought it would look better against the standing seam metal roof and because bonderized steel can be painted with regular house paint, unlike seamless gutters.
Ralph provided me with a quote for both the bonderized steel gutters and for the seamless gutters. I obtained two additional quotes from two other companies who could only do seamless gutters. Ralph’s quote for seamless gutters was in the middle of all three quotes and the bonderized quote was only slightly higher than the highest quote for seamless gutters.
It’s been 2 years now with the bonderized steel gutters and I am still as happy with them as I had been when they were installed. Going with the customized folded metal route meant that I could have gutters as tall as the fascia, creating a seamless look. I really appreciated Ralph’s knowledge in this regard. He was able to understand my hesitation with the seamless gutter color options and provide me with something I didn’t know was out there. Everything works beautifully and I have had absolutely no problems with the gutters.
It was great. They did everything they said they would and even a little more. They showed up on time and the gutters look great.
I called multiple businesses about getting gutters installed in preparation for “El Nino”. Brothers called back and we were able to schedule an appointment promptly. Frank came out, took the measurements, made recommendations, and gave me a quote on the spot. He told me the terms of how the order would be taken and the work would be done. Everything was handled just how he described. There was a fairly long lead-time for the work to be performed due to all the installations he already had scheduled. When the time came, the crew that came out was professional and efficient. The gutters look great and they work well. Very satisfied with the completed job.

In this day and age it’s refreshing to find a good quality service can still be provided at a reasonable cost. Recommended.
Ralph and his team did an excellent job replacing the gutters on my house. They were professional and timely in the install and made sure I was completely satisfied. The gutters look great! I would absolutely call them again.
Excellent customer service. Had a mistake at the beginning, and Ralph bent over backwards to make it right. Price is a little more expensive but is worth it for the service and the warranty.
.
Everything went great. Ralph was very responsive and easy to get in touch with. The work looks great, and he was very quick and efficient.
“Thank you for taking the time out of from your busy schedule in writing a review. Sincerely Ralph Flores”
The process went very well. The work was done efficiently and professionally by a very polite and well-organized crew on the date promised.

Emailed for information on their services, they never responded. I understand gutter companies are busy this time of year. But I think a response would have been the professional thing to do, even if they couldn’t come out for an estimate for a while. Makes me wonder, if we had hired them, would they be punctual…
“Sorry but do to the overwhelming emails due to El Nino. It is impossible to respond in a timely manner or even respond at all. If you where serious about getting a free gutter estimate or information about raingutters you should have just picked up the phone and called. We are one of few companies that are still answering the phone. As many gutters companies are back logged for 3 months! and are no longer answering there phones. Once this EL Nino forecast passes we should be back to our normal schedule. These recent F’s we have are only from from desperate homeowners that waited too the last minute .. I too am responsible for waiting for last minute on my own home! My wife yesterday said she was gonna hire a gutter company to clean our own gutters! and I said to her good luck in getting one! turns out I will have to do it this Sunday ;-( Sincerely Ralph Flores”
Ralph came out and gave an estimate quickly, even though many other local gutter places were overwhelmed and giving me estimates months out. He was not intimidated by my kooky old house, which always has lots of challenges. The crew came a few weeks later and installed the gutters in a few hours. The were very professional and the gutters look great. He had lots of colors to choose from, and a few shapes.
“Thank you for taking the time out of from your busy schedule in writing a review. Sincerely Ralph Flores”
Ralph came out very promptly to give me an estimate. The price seemed reasonable and the other companies I called were either unable to hang the gutters directly from the roof (our house does not have the fascia boards and I did not want to install them) or did not have the shape I wanted (square aluminum). Ralph warned me that the installation will have to happen 6 weeks after the estimate was made; I cannot fault them for it, since every other gutter installer seemed equally overwhelmed with pre-el nino demand. I had several follow-up questions and Ralph would always call or email me back within a day. The only suggestion I have for them is to have the office call upon the receipt of the deposit to confirm the job schedule. The installers showed up on time and did an excellent job. Our roof has several very tricky corners, but they navigated them with impressive skill. The new gutters look wonderful and performed great in the rain we had last week.

“This review reflects an experience in which work WAS NOT performed. – We never got your email. If this Angie’s List Member was truly interested in us providing a free estimate they should have just picked up picked up the phone and called us. Hope you found someone to take care of your gutter situation. Sincerely Ralph Flores”
I called Brothers for an esimate to replace existing rain gutters and a day/time was scheduled. The day before our scheduled time, I received a call that they would not be able to make the appointment but that they had gone to my house to provide an estimate for the replacement. I received an estimate that same day. I also received an estimate from one other company but decided to go with Brothers (despite the fact that they were signficantly higher than the other bid when comparing apples to apples) based on the good reviews. The earliest date that was available was 6 weeks out so the installation was scheduled for Nov 13th. A few days before the scheduled installation, I sent an email (the exclusive way that we had been communicating) to confirm timing but did not receive a response. On the scheduled installation date, no one showed up. Now it will take another 6 weeks to get a new company scheduled for the installation. BEWARE!
“We never received a signed contract, Never received the color of choice, Never received deposit. This Angie’s List member forgot to mention a couple of key facts on her review. After emailing back in forth for a couple of weeks and answering her questions via email she never signed the contract or even picked a color of choice. After speaking to her this morning she said she never knew she had to sign the contract………. seriously? ………. who deserves the F”
We had wanted them to install stainless steel gutters…specifically advertised on their website and in their brochure. I wasn’t home for the estimate (for which Ralph was approximately one hour late), but my wife was quite specific with Ralph that we wanted stainless steel gutters. Instead, he insisted on giving her quote for bonderized as well as aluminum gutters, and told her bonderized was like stainless steel. Except that it is essentially galvanized steel, which rusts. Any sheet metal professional worth his salt would know the difference.
When I got the estimate, I called Ralph and he advised that he would provide me a quote for STAINLESS STEEL, and apologized as he had misunderstood. He said that he had our email, and would email to us. And would follow up.
Never got an email. Never got a follow up from Ralph.
“After speaking to you this morning now I know 100% that indeed you wanted a quote for stainless steel gutters.Yes we are one of the few companies that fabricates and installs stainless steel gutters. Sorry for the confusion. Let me know what you think of the estimate. Sincerely Ralph Flores”

“This review reflects an experience in which work WAS NOT performed – This Angie’s List member wanted someone to clean here gutter and we made it very clear that we are not providing this service at this time. Sincerely Ralph Flores”
I called twice on the prior day. No one called me back. I then called the following day and talked to someone who said they were not taking new orders less than 150 linear feet. And that they were backordered for 3 months. I thanked the person and indicated I would look elsewhere.
We got three estimates and decided on Brothers sheet Metal. We contacted them after we got their estimate asking many questions. They had the most simple and appropriate solution for us. They showed up on time and they cleaned up after they finished.

“We do not work on 3-story buildings is was was clearly told to this Angie’s List member on June 8., We are disputing this review because he put this review out of pure spice. Our liability insurance does not allow us to work on three story buildings. sincerely Ralph Flores”
It did not go.
“first and foremost – This review reflects an experience in which work WAS NOT performed. Okay so I waited a few days before I replied to this comment. I searched all our logs and we have no record of this Angie’s member calling us. Please email me at Ralph@BrothersSheetmetal.com Sincerely Ralph Flores”
I am changing my initial review of Brothers Sheet Metal because of a personal call from Ralph, one of the owners. There was a previous misunderstanding about scheduling, but because Ralph made it a point to reach out and rectify the situation, I have full respect for the quality of his company. This kind of personal attention is rare. Thank you Ralph, and I look forward to speaking to you soon to move forward with this project.
Michael
“Thanks for taking my call this morning I am looking forward in seeing you for a free estimate in three weeks. At the same time I want to advise our Angie’s List member that we are currently three months back logged. Due to the six year drought 80% of LA county did not address any issues to their raingutters, drains or roofs …. SIX YEARS! Now that the wet season “El Nino” has been forecasted everyone is trying to address all their issues in six days! and people are getting desperate. I deeply feel for all our Angie’s List member and wish here at Brothers Sheetmetal that we would be able to take care of all of you but the reality is we cannot. We are doing our absolute best and working long extra hours but we are a small family owned operated business and we can only do so much. Sincerely Ralph Flores”
Phoned. Received response w/in 15 minutes from message I left. I specifically wanted custom, metal gutters and this seemed to be the best company. Ralph Flores came w/in 3 days. We looked everything over, drew up a plan, and got an estimate. I made the decision to go w/ that company w/o another estimate. (I ran schools for 22 years and trust my instincts.) We set a date for 6 weeks away then and there. I sent an e-mail once re: something technical to which I received an immediate reply.
The 3 men arrived promptly at 8 AM and finished well before 3. They were courteous, knowledgeable, and professional. There was no mess–I had thrown my previous gutters in the trash last year when I put a new roof on–and vowed no more plastic!
The gutters are beautiful. I highly recommend.
“Thank you for taking the time out of from your busy schedule in writing a review. Sincerely Ralph Flores”
I found Brothers Sheetmetal on Angies List and they were also recommended by another gutter installation company who could not do the job because of the way my house was constructed.
I met with Ralph who gave me a quote on the spot after inspecting my property.
Within 2 weeks of the initial meeting the job was completed.
I am very satisfied with the professsionalism and promptness of this company.
I would recommend them to others.
I located this business through Angie’s list and sent an online message on 8/18/15 attempting to schedule an appointment for an estimate to replace my current rain gutters. I did not get a response. On 8/20/15, I contacted them by phone and set up an appointment for the following Monday 8/24 for 12 noon. At 10:35 Monday morning I received a call from Ralph stating that he would need to reschedule for possibly Tuesday, the next day. I advised that I would need to call him back to let him know if that was possible. I contacted Ralph back within 10 minutes and left a voicemail that indicated Tuesday was OK but I needed a time frame. I did not get a response back. I then contacted the office Monday afternoon to confirm a Tuesday appointment. The receptionist stated she would need to contact the estimator and would call me back by end of day. I did not receive a response back.
In my brief encounter with this company, I had to initiate all the communications and still did not get any type of response, on three different occasions, other then to cancel the appointment.
“This was a free onsite estimate for a Monday that needed to be re-scheduled for Tuesday ….. simple as that! This Angie’s List member has worded this review as if we kept going back in forth for days. I called him the very next morning after hearing his voice mail and he said he wasn’t interested and hung up on me. Sincerely Ralph Flores”
My estimate was done by Ralph Flores on a Thursday of a week and Ralph told me it would be about 2 weeks before they could get to me. I wanted their quality so I said yes. Ralph called me the next day and told me they had a cancelation and would I want them to do the job the next day which was a Saturday. I said great and the crew arrived right on time in the morning and was done in about 4 hours. They fabricated the seamless gutters right on sight. The job went perfect and looks great, even adding a small piece to the job that could only be seen from the roof. I am very happy and impressed by this companies professionalism and would recommend them to anyone.
“Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule in writing a review and posting pictures. It was a pleasure working with ya!”
NEVER CALLED BACK
“Please email me at Ralph@BrothersSheetmetal.com and I will make sure and make it up to you. Sincerely Ralph Flores”
We had a very good experience with Brothers Sheetmetal. Ralph assessed the situation, provided an estimate in a timely matter and set a date for his team to come out for the installation. All went well, the team arrived as scheduled, there were no issues and the gutters look great!
Ralph came out to give me a bid. He was the 2nd person I had met with. What impressed me so much was how he was actually giving me options to SAVE money and showed me areas where the existing gutters were still in good shape. Not only that, but his bid was about $400 cheaper than the other highly recommend Angie’s list gutter specialist. Service was super fast and their clean up was great. I would highly recommend Brother’s Sheetmetal to anyone and I truly appreciate their great service.
Ralph installed all new gutters and one new downspout for my home. I am especially grateful because he did this with his team on very short notice. I live in the hills and was having my house painted and had scaffolding around my house that was about to be taken down in two days. Ralph agreed to come over the next day to have the gutters installed. He smartly recommended a new downspout location in the front of my house (I believe the old downspout location to be the cause of some flooding in my laundry room). In the back of my house, he was able to use existing old downspouts at no additional cost. He was fair and honest throughout the entire process, and I would certainly recommend him to anyone looking for new gutters. I already recommended him to my neighbor. His prices were on par/slightly cheaper than competitors. Don’t hesitate to call Brothers Sheetmetal — a great experience from start to finish.
Brother’s Sheet Metal Crew arrived on time and got to work promptly. They needed power to run the machine that makes the gutters so I directed them to our front yard outlet and that was all I really needed to do. The crew worked very quickly and efficiently. I came out to inspect the progress every once and a while. Each time I noted everything was measured exactly and the work was top quality. Have to say this was the least stressful job I have had dome on my home from bid through done. Frank and the crew were professional and I would absolutely recommend them.
Ralph Flores was very professional and got the job bid and completed within less than a week. Color matched paint on house. His crew of 3 showed up on time and got the job done the same day. Clean up and disposal of old gutters all went well. I would recommend Ralph and his crew to anyone needing new or repair of their old gutters.
“Thank you for taking the time in writing a review! greatly appreciate it”
Ralph and his crew are great. Ralph is very responsive, I called and the next day Ralph came out to view the job and provide a bid. The bid was fair and I liked the way that he was very direct and also offered alternatives for the downspouts.
His crew came out to install the job, they did a great job, cleaned up after themselves and the gutters look great. I would definitely recommend them.
Ralph and his crew are top notch. I got a quote from Ralph a few years ago but never got around to doing the project until recently. The communication via email and text has been great and he’s quick to respond. Even though Ralph wasn’t there personally his crew Jairo was very professional and responsive to requests. On the day of the install I asked for a few changes to tuck the rain barrels out of sight and they accommodated the changes. Also they helped me move a cable that was running across my yard that has been an eyesore. I took this opportunity and they helped me move it 8 feet without any extra charge. I highly recommend Brothers Sheetmetal for your gutter needs.
I have several’s’s estimates from other rain gutter companies, but brothers sheet metal what the best as far as selling their product and in sharing there workmanship, professionalism, and how others do not compare to their own company. I highly suggest and recommend this company for any work. Go ahead and get comparisons this company may be a couple of hundred dollars more but in the long run the workmanship and the quality and the guaranteed cannot be compared to the other companies. Sometimes you have to pay just a little bit more for quality as well as the guarantee and workmanship. I am extremely satisfied with the workmanship and the customer service that this company provides.
Ralph responded to my call immediately and came by to give us a reasonable quote. We requested a color for the gutters which matched the house, and white downspouts to be installed on two posts running down onto the garden away from the porch. They looked terrific and blended right in with the house. A week later we noticed the spouts were a few inches short. We called Ralph, and he came by and fixed the problem right away. We’d highly recommend this company if you need aluminum gutters..
“yes, those two downspouts where a bit tricky to blend in and in a sense make them go away. The two small extensions did the final trick, thanks again for the review”
Ralph showed up on time for the estimate and provided it on the spot after walking around my house. I emailed a photo of a signed copy to authorize the work a day or two after. The work was originally scheduled for mid-February but was postponed until early March due to the desired gutter color being out of stock. Everything went fine other than that delay. Gutters appear to be working fine although they haven’t really been tested by a heavy rain yet.
“thanks for the patience in waiting for the custom color to arrive and for taking the time in writing a review on us.”
Install was great. Ralph and crew installed seamless gutters on our house. They did a great job and cleaned up completely afterwards. There was one thing I noticed at the end of the job that I wanted changed and they did it without issue. I would definitely refer them to friends and family.
“Customers such as yourself with a keen eye for detail is what makes us better. Thank you for the great review!”
Great. We received an estimate in July and were not ready for the work until December. Ralph was always responsive to my questions. His workers were very professional.
“I know with the large construction you had a lot on your plate. Thank you for taking the time out from your busy schedule in writing a review on us, greatly appreciate it”
After some complaining, everything is great.
Ralph gave us an estimate and shortly afterwards we received a proposal via E-mail which included a professional drawing of the house with indicators of where the down spouts would be placed. The location of the downspouts was discussed in our first meeting before the work began .Everything was done professionally and the corners were mitered so the entire job looks very polished. Needless to say it probably won’t rain for another year but we are very pleased with their work.
“Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule in writing a review on us. Greatly appreciate it! and good luck on your new home! I don’t need to wish you good luck on the gutters because I know 100% they will be fine ;-)”

In spite of a few minor scheduling hiccups for the estimate and the work, I ended up being very happy that I chose Brother’s Sheetmetal.
Ralph was very clear during the estimate and quoted a great price, including the Angie’s discount.
Butit was when I saw the expertise and skill of the installers, Jairo and Neris, that I knew I had the right crew working on my home.
They listened to my requests regarding downspout locations and configurations and executed the plan perfectly. Jairo made a few suggestions that were better than what I had planned, so I went with them.
It sounds corny, but I actually got the feeling that these were not only great craftsmen, but also good human beings – caring and courteous.
After the job was finished – on time and on budget – I called Ralph to thank him for the excellent job. He’s a classy guy with a great crew.
The work was good. Ralph came out and he was great. They were very prompt and got done in the amount of time they quoted. I would tell a friend that they are bit expensive, but they seemed to be very knowledgeable.
After seeing strong reviews on Angie’s List, I called for an estimate; a machine answered, but someone called back and said that an estimator would call the next day to make an appointment. I never heard back, so I called again about a week later, and was told the same thing. A week later, I called and mentioned that this was the third call, and had yet to hear from anybody; the woman who answered the phone apologized and said she would look into it and get someone to call back. Still no call back, so I gave up and called someone else on Angie’s List, who unlike Brothers, did everything right and got the job.
“This Angie’s List member called during the rain and said that one of her gutters was slanted and overshooting. I am very sorry we didn’t do a follow up call to see if you had rectified the problem. I take full responsibility on this one. Hope you where able to unclog your gutters. Sincerely, Ralph Flores”
I called Dec.11th and was told someone would get back to me the next morning. I did not receive a call. I called again on Dec 18th and asked why I haven’t heard back. I was told that they would look into it. When I asked when I would get a call back, I was told “sometime this week” because we have a lot of people on our list. I asked where I was on the list, given that I called either the 10th or the 11th, and she said she did not know, but would check. When I asked when I would hear back from her, she said “probably tomorrow”. Very bad customer service.
“I did advise this Angie’s List member that we are in North Hollywood and because of the recent major storms we couldn’t get out to Orange County to fix one leaking seam, Also the gutters need to be fully dry to fix the problem. Sorry we couldn’t help you out and hope you where able to get a local company to help you out. Sincerely, Ralph Flores”
I was happy with the service and material provided by Ralph and his crew. Ralph was prompt to provide an estimate, which included a diagram showing the location of the downspouts. The job included complete fabrication and installation of new gutters and downspouts. I had requested heavier gauge aluminum be used. Although it was a special order, Ralph was able to quickly find what I was looking for and gave me a fair price. In addition, he was able to accommodate our tight deadline so not to interfere with any of the other work that was in progress. His crew was nice and answered my questions during the installation process. They hauled away the old material and left the work area clean.

We were having our old house repainted, and I really wanted the finishing touch to be the replacement of the rain gutters that had rusted away some fifty years ago. I knew that copper would look great, but I feared it would be unaffordable. The first estimate from a Pasadena competitor at over $17,000 almost made me give up on this idea. But after meeting with Ralph from Brothers Sheet Metal, and reading his great reviews on Angie’s List and beyond, I received his estimate, and was more than pleased that it was more than 60% lower than the previous bid. The job was tricky, as they had to fit the gutters over existing notches in the rafter tails, and several of the seamless gutter sections were so long that three men were needed to lift them. The job took three days instead of the anticipated two, because of the idiosyncrasies of our old house. The timing was almost too good to be true: Just about an hour after the job was completed, the first rain of the season started in earnest, breaking our long drought. We sat on our front porch and watched as water rushed down the two decorative copper rain-chains that had just been installed at each of the front corners of the house. And because we decided at the last minute to purchase these two rain chains, Ralph voluntarily reduced the price of the job by $480 because of the copper he had saved on down-spouts.
In a nutshell, we had an exceptional experience with Brothers Sheet Metal, and can recommend them wholeheartedly to all!
I interviewed two companies for the project, both where comparable in price. I chose Brothers to do the job because Ralph Flores the owner who came out and accessed the job really analyzed the water flow on the property. He showed me the best way to move the water flow away from the house and advised ways to move it to the plants and lawn.
I was in the process of putting a new roof on the house. Ralph pointed out that one of the exit doors needed a channel to be installed by the roofer so that when the gutters where installed Ralph could attach a unit above the door to divert the water away from the exit. Ralph spoke to the roofer and discussed what was needed.
It was an all day install job the workers showed up on time. The crew worked diligently and cleaned up when they where finished.
When the actual work was in progressed it turned out that some extra gutter material and labor was needed to finish the job Ralph was kind enough not to charge me extra, by the way the extra work was needed because of something I changed.
in the new year I will be using Ralph to install some extra gutters that are needed on another property that I own.
The quality of workmanship seems very good though it hasn’t been tested in a rain yet. Will report back once the job has seen its first rain.
I called Ralph and made an appointment at 8:00am, he showed up on time and gave me a quote in 20min after measuring the house. the drains were already there and I had taken out the old gutters myself when I had the house painted so this was a relatively easy job. I had another appointment the next day for another quote from the competition. they quoted me 20% higher price for the same job. I called back Ralph and made an appointment to start the job. they came on time they worked the whole day but they could not finish it the same day and they came back the next day and finished the job. they knew what they were doing, they did a clean job and I was very happy. I would highly recommend them.
when I talked to Ralph, he was very honest and I did not feel like he was trying to sell me anything.
An awesome job, they did all custom miters with the box gutters and smooth downspouts.
Came on agreed date and installed new gutters on the house and garage. The next day it rained and everything worked as expected. No problems.
Ralph scoped out the work and was very knowledgeable. My main concern with the existing gutters was that they were starting to pull away from the roof because the ends of the wooden rafters of the house were deteriorated to the point that the nails were too loose. Even if I hammered the nails back in, a light rain would easily cause the gutters to pull away again and sag.
Ralph pointed out additional issues, including poor drainage, which was causing long-term damage to the integrity of the house and surrounding concrete. He pointed out how you could see sky between the roof and the old gutters. He proposed new positions for the downspouts to improve drainage, and also suggested the hidden hangars, which would eliminate the need to use nails or replace the rafters. We ultimately went with Brothers because other estimators would have required replacing and painting the rafters, which would have led to a delay in installing the actual gutters.
On the day of the installation, Ralph called to reschedule because one of their fabrication machines jammed… while trying to unjam the machine, they ended up breaking it. Replacement parts were not available until the following week. These things happen, so I
did my best to be understanding… nevertheless, I had to telecommute two days instead of just one, which had a negative effect on my own job.
I don’t know much about gutters, so I asked more than my share of silly questions. Ralph got a bit testy. He scoffed at my idea of test-driving the gutters by pouring actual water down them. This is So Cal and we’re in the middle of a serious drought… I didn’t want to have to wait potentially several months to find out if there were any flaws. He cited several times his many years of experience as a reason enough for a physical test drive of his product to be unnecessary.
Also, it was important for my wife that he personally be there, at least initially, to kick off the installation. Perhaps that’s unusual, but he did agreed to do this. However, he never showed up and left some explanation message as to why.
Once the job got started, the crew was very professional and did a great job. (Unfortunately, the overall professional rating has to be a “B” because of the previous two paragraphs.) Very pleased with the outcome – the gutters are beautiful. It did in fact rain a couple of weeks after the installation, and they performed perfectly. The ground next to the walls of the house remained bone dry.
This is kind of irrelevant, but I must share an unexpected moment of pure and utter joy that was a direct result of our new gutters. Now, I need to explain that my neighbor’s cat loves to poo in my front yard. When I first discussed the problem with my neighbor, he just shrugged it off as though it was not his responsibility. Since direct confrontation didn’t seem to be effective, my passive-aggressive solution was to scoop it up and leave it in a pile next to his driveway. While the growing pile was still on my side of the property line, I had hoped that my neighbor would at least be able to partake in the visuals and aromatics of it all. Such was the state of things for the past few years. Well, the morning after the first rain, I ran outside to see how the gutters did. Again, they did exactly what the were supposed to do. But to my surprise and delight, the newly positioned downspout also managed to wash the entire pile of poo clean away, and right onto my neighbor’s driveway. HOORAY FOR BROTHERS!!
Ralph was great to work with — knowledgable, conscientious, and warm. His crew was also very nice to work with. I’d definitely recommend this company.
No response, very unprofessional.
“Reasonable time for a call back would be one day. You called on October 1st. I called you back the next day Oct. 2nd at 2:00 pm and left a voice mail and never got a returned call. Before we where able to make a follow up call you left this review. Some people are just too quick to pull the trigger. Sorry that we where not able to make a connection. Hopefully you found someone that was able to take care of your gutter needs. Sincerely Ralph Flores”
SEAMLESS is the word that keeps coming to mind to describe our interactions with Brothers Sheetmetal. — The estimate and bids were seamless because Ralph arrived on time and gave us a quick but thorough estimate on the spot followed by a final price promptly by email after we made a couple of adjustments. — The scheduling was seamless as we were given lots of advance notice and the job happened exactly as planned after Ralph confirmed that the color and type of metal we chose had arrived on time. — The work process was smooth and seamless. Jairo and his brother quietly, carefully, and expertly crafted beautiful gutters and downspouts that actually add a nice trimmed-out look to our home. — The gutters themselves — one over 50 feet long — are seamless, not to mention strong and sleek. So this means they will perform well and live up to the lifetime warranty provided. These guys are total pros and I can’t think of a single thing that I would want to improve in the work process, the finished product, or the paperwork. If you need gutters, go to Brothers Sheetmetal. You’ll have a seamless experience too!
We interviewed a couple companies for the job. There is a vast difference in the quality Brothers Sheet Metal provided and the other companies. Their competitors wanted to sell us cheap white aluminium for comparable costs! Ralph took one look at our house and began to make suggestions, even walking us to different homes in our neighborhood to point out examples. Ralph delivered samples not once but TWICE until we found the right one. The crew that installed the gutters was on time, well organized and very professional.
The gutter style and color blend seamlessly into our roof line and we are eagerly awaiting the first rains!
The gutters provide a significant part of the aesthetic value of my home.
After reading all the positive reviews about Brothers Sheet Metal, I met with Ralph regarding the gutters. Ralph arrived on time and immediately understood the look I wanted. He also offered constructive suggestions that I followed.
His workers also demonstrated the same high level of professionalism and executed exactly what I wanted. The gutters look beautiful and we have been receiving complements from the neighbors about them.
Ralph?s team also fabricated some custom flashings for me during a last minute crisis (for something unrelated to the gutter installation). I really appreciate them coming through for me like this.
After the gutters were completed, I approached Ralph to see if he would be able to fabricate a custom copper chimney shroud. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this something else that he has vast experience in.
My experience with Brothers Sheet Metal was most positive. I will recommend them to anyone I know and look forward to more projects with them.
They were very good. They were fast and did a good job. They knew what they were doing and it was exactly what they said they would do.
Ralph had provided the estimate some time ago and when I spoke with him recently, he was able to quickly bring up the details over the phone. He was very helpful to me in providing advice regarding the proper color to select.
Jairo (the supervisor) and the rest of the team arrived on time. Everyone was polite. Jairo and I reviewed the work order and the premises and confirmed the layout of the extensions. The team completed the work in a timely manner.
I am very happy with the result. I tested the gutters and they work fine. Well done.
I dealt with the owner Ralpsh Flores who was prompt and on time. He was very helpful getting hangers installed as he had to work around a complicated roofing job that was filled with twists and turns that impacted his scheduling. He was cool with all the changes and insisted that I go with a quality product, not just the cheapest. Installation day went very smoothly – he sent a professional crew of guys who were experienced and centered, which results in a better outcome. You can tell these guys are sheet metal pros who fabricate and set gutters all the time. This job was a little crazy since I was coordinating numerous trades at once (I’m a homeowner, not a genral cont) and Ralph was patient and easy to work with throughout. Brothers will not be the lowest bid you receive. In a less crazy job, I would have insisted on a slightly lower price, but given the hoops they went through, it was worth it and they earned every penny. Thanks again, Ralph.
Everything was done in a timely manner. Very professional and the gutters look great. The thing I like about this company was that they were able to do all the fabrication including the flashing. Most other companies only do the gutters. It saved me money to because they were able do both. Greta Job!
In our new home we had discovered serious drainage issues after the last substantial rainfall. We had flooding and finally figured out why we had so much wood rot. Sigh. We thought we would have make a lot of structural and landscape changes in order to keep our home from being destroyed by rain.
We have a house with a flat roof that dumps onto an addition that also has a flat roof. The garage has a flat roof too. Water would sheet off of all these structures and end up pooling in the same place and seeped into the doors of the addition.
Ralph came to give us an estimate and gave us fantastic suggestions. This one area we had NO clue as what to do and he suggested a rain barrel. We had not even thought of that! This solution appealed to us on so many levels. He told us in detail how all the gutter system and rain barrels would and could work.
He quickly and accurately accessed our problems and come up with money, energy and water saving solutions!!
The work took only 1/2 of a day. His workers showed up and started working from a detailed map. Ralph showed up about an hour later to make sure the work was going well and to answer any questions we may have had. We are thrilled with the result. We know everything works because we had to pressure wash the roof in order to apply some Henry’s reflective coating to cool the house the following week of gutter installation.
We are EXTREMELY happy with Brother’s sheet metal and would definitely hire them again.
FYI: We bought the rain barrels and Brother’s sheet metal installed. They do not carry rain barrels.
They were excellent! They showed up at the time they promised and the work they did was well done.
They did a very good job with everything we asked them to do. They got the colors and style right and the workmanship was very good. My wife had an issue with one of the areas they were working on and they were quick to come up with a solution that satisfied her and made us all happy. They did it and did not add any extra charge.
Ralph came out and arrived on time, and gave an estimate. He is very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He explained everything thoroughly and answered all our questions. Installation day his crew arrived on time. He has a wonderful crew. Very professional and nice guys. The day of install I started worrying about one area that has been a problem for 20 years for us. I thought maybe I needed another down spout. His crew said it wasn’t necessary but they had Ralph call me. He also said it wasn’t necessary, but because he could tell I was still haunted by the old problem, said he would install another down spout, at no cost to me.
Also told Ralph that my daughter, who lives nearby, can’t get the leaves off of her high-pitched roof and he said for $40 he would send the crew over to her house, after my job and take them off. Was so nice of him to do that for such a minimal amount of money. He really values his customers. They did an excellent job with a very difficult roof.
Would highly recommend this company to anyone.
Met with Ralph at the Apt building as scheduled. He was very informative and provided a color chart to select the gutter & down spout colors. The installation went smoothly. When asked if leaning a two story ladder against the gutters would damage them I was assured that the grade of the sheet metal they used would not be damaged. A subsequent test by my painting contractor proved them correct. The workmen were very accommodative in making minor changes to down spout exit point locations. I was very happy with the workmanship. I would highly recommend Brothers Sheet Metal to anyone who is interested in high quality gutters.
They did an outstanding job! The miter cuts on the rain gutters are perfect. The downspouts were placed in the best locations possible. We were concerned with the locations of the downspouts relative to the rain barrels we had purchased, however, Ralph came up with innovative solutions that work great! They finished the entire job very quickly. The quality of the product and workmanship are excellent! We were extremely pleased and recommend them highly!
fair price, good work performed, rains came and tested their work, proved their work. No complaints. would hire again.
Brothers sheet metal performed the job on time and on budget. The quality of the work was outstanding, we are very happy with the end result and Ralph and his crew went out of their way to make sure we were happy. I came home after the first day of the job and found the crew cleaning up construction debri from another
contractor workng at the house. I would use them again and refer to others without qualification.
We were promised an estimate later that day, but we never received one. After a couple days we called the office and spoke with someone who apologized to us. The person in the office told us to expect a call back right away, but we never received one. We never heard from the provider again. This provider wasted our time. We posted these facts on Yelp and the provider replied by claiming he had never heard of us. As a result we reported him to Yelp for violating their Terms of Service, specifically accuracy.
“I am truly very sorry you never received the proposal I had the wrong email. Yes this Angie’s List member called three days later to ask for the estimate which I simply just forwarded again not realizing that I had the wrong email. I am very sorry you never received the proposal. Sometimes technology just isn’t the best! Again sorry for my mishap and hope you and your husband got your gutters installed. As far as the Yelp review since they are anonymous I thought it was a competitor. Sincerely R.F”
The job was done on time and per specifications. The crew was punctual and courteous. I had a minor adjustment request after the job was completed. Ralph responded quickly and returned the next day to perform the adjustment. Brothers’s quote was competitive in comparison with the other quotes I received. The deciding factors were Brothers offered life time warranty (others only offer 1 ? 2 years), and Ralph took the time to explain the details of the work, how the job will be done, and the materials will be used. This was educational and at the same time put me at ease of knowing what I would spend my money for. The gutters received their first test from the rain yesterday. It worked as expected. I am happy with my new gutters and it makes my house looks good too. I highly recommend Brother Sheet Metals to anyone who will need Gutters installation.
They were very responsive, punctual and professional. Ralph will give you ideas and options without talking you into a specific option you may not have in mind. They were not the cheapest but competitive. Quality was excellent and performed in a timely manner with minimal damage to the landscape. Highly recommended and I am very particular.
Ralph Flores, the owner, took the measurements and provided a written quote for the down spouts and gutters (in three different colors) on the house and garage. He assured us that they would be able to take care of the gap between the roof and solid aluminum patio cover with gutter and flashing so there would be no leaks. (Other companies were skeptical about their ability to do the job right.) We wanted to make some changes to the location of a couple of the down spouts after he took the measurements and he was responsive to our emails in making the changes. The day of the installation, Ralph and the crew showed up at the appointed time and after Ralph introduced the supervisor, they got to work and worked efficiently until the job was done that day. Everything looks great. We fully expect the gutters and spouts to work perfectly when we get the next rainstorm.
Very good experience and I would highly recommend Brother’s Sheet Metal. The crew were professional and friendly and they took time to make sure the job was done right. Our house is modern so it was very important to us that they paid attention to detail. The cost was also very reasonable.
I call Brothers Sheet Metal for an estimate on rain gutter and down spouts installation. Ralph Flores came and gave me an estimate for the job I was requesting. The estimate and with Angie?s discount, bid out the other contractors. Ralph and his crew were really professional and on time. Installed rain gutter around the roof and spouts, front and rear porch with spouts. I am really happy with the job done. I would gladly recommend Brothers Sheet Metal to anybody that needed this kind of work done.
Ralph and his crew did a great job. Arrived on time and finished the job as promised.
They ended up replacing more of the gutter than originally discussed but did not charge for the additional feet.
I’ve already recommended them to my next door neighbor!
Estimate was done and written up professionally with details of all the sections needed. They didn’t really try to oversell or upsell anything other than some gutter cleanings. Estimator was on time and walked the entire job with me. They honored the Angie’s list discount and priced accordingly since I had my painters remove the existing gutter sections and a local scrap guy to haul away so less for them to deal with. The estimator worked with me through email and phone which was great and we were able to get a contract signed and back to him easily.
They confirmed the appointment date and the crew arrived on time. Be prepared for them needing a space to park a large truck…not quite semi length but big since they have the machine that cuts and bends the metal in the back with a roll of the material. Material was pre-painted to white which made things easy and did’t require additional painting or anything. I actually scheduled the work for after most of our exterior house painting was done. The crew was nice and courteous and did a good job without leaving any trash or marking up our exterior which was freshly painted.
The one thing I only noticed after they left was that one of the downspouts looks crooked but this was an existing one they tied in to and of which attaches to another drain that then goes under a concrete slab so I will have to ask them to come back and take a look and determine if there is anything they can do or not. This may not be anything they didn’t do correctly or something…I just can’t tell and it’s relatively minor and in a location that isn’t easy to see.
I really liked the products they used and the time they took to educate me on what was the best application and material for our job. They also noted how their products and methodology may differ from competitors and even if we didn’t choose them they recommended we ask those types of questions of other candidates.
I got two other quotes and they all seemed to be VERY close to one another. Some differed only by ten dollars. I selected brothers because they were the most “local” geographically to us and because of the time they took to explain and educate on their products and approach to their work. They didn’t hesitate to ask questions and coordinate with our painters either. I felt the other estimators from their competitors were a bit impatient and talked down to a few of the painters that were here working on site at the time.
Brother’s accepted checks or credit cards although the pricing was better NOT using a credit card. We actually paid with I think two different checks from two accounts and they were fine with that.
All in all it was a good experience and I would use them again or have them come to do an annual cleaning as well.
The crew arrived on time, quickly removed all the old gutters, applied new flashing, gutters, and down spouts.
The crew cleaned up so you couldn’t tell they were even there.
THE JOB IS FABULOUS
I have to say this was a most positive experiance. Not only were the new gutters extremely similar to the original gutters, but they re-used the original decorative support clips on the downspouts. Where these were missing, they fabricated simple replacements. So, my gutters would not just replaced, but restored. Needless to say they were prompt, fast and cleaned up very well. I would definitely use them again, they could not have been more helpful.
I got two estimates, and Brothers was the least expensive. Ralph advised me about where to put the gutters and downspouts, and that was very helpful. When the install date approached, he had some trouble with one of his machines and had to reschedule, but he called and was very apologetic and courteous about it. When the crew showed up, they were professional and fast. We had originally planned to put one downspout in an area where we ended up getting a solar inverter, so they moved that downspout to another location that worked just as well. Now my house has storm gray gutters that match the trim perfectly and we’re prepared for rain. Of course, now we’re in a terrible drought this year, so the gutters might not get a true test for a while. But they look fantastic and this company did a great job for a great price.
I had a wonderful experience working with Ralph. From start to finish the communication was excellent. I called about getting a quote and he came out the next day. Explained everything well and gave me pricing options. I had wanted to see photos of the box style modern gutters we spoke of and he emailed me promtly with the photos and the answers to all my questions. I liked that they actually made thier own gutters and weren’t a middle man. I got another quote and their prices were very competitive and i felt assured they would do a great job. I scheudled our install for a week later. I had to rescchedle because something came up and ralph was great to re-schedule when we were ready. He responed so fast to all my emails and that was a huge plus for me. On the day of the install ralph and his team showed up and he made sure everyone was on the same page before heading off to another apt. He came back later to make sure all was well. The guys were great and we love our gutters.
.
It went great. They were on time, on budget, did good work, and were flexible in accommodating a change I wanted mid-job.
From the beginning, dealing with Ralph Flores was a pleasure. Even though his base is North Hollywood, he was very familiar with our neighborhood in Santa Barbara, and also had experience installing the brand of metal roof on our house.
The previous owner had installed extremely large and low hanging gutters on our low-slung mid-century modern home. They dropped 5-6 inches below our already wide and low 7-ft eaves, blocking or encroaching upon much of our view of the mountains in front and the town and sea in the back. Their traditional-style ogee profile was completely inappropriate for the house. The cheap downspouts slanted down so steeply as they crossed the walks around the house that I was constantly banging my head on them.
We’d had a local custom gutter fabricator look at the situation and he told us that a custom gutter job with an appropriate profile would be above $10,000. A standard job with smaller ogee gutters set higher would be almost $3500, but they would still hang down from the eave somewhat.
We looked on Angies List for Los Angeles and found Brothers Sheet Metal with a solid “A” rating. Ralph knew what we wanted, sent color samples and arranged to get us a sample of the gutter itself. It looked perfect, and when he showed us how it would fit right up under the flashing coming down from the metal roof, we were sold.
The standard colors were a near-perfect match for our house and trim, so we told Ralph to go ahead. The job took two days and came out better than we had hoped. The gutters were formed on site, and the downspouts were built to each individual location. Ralph recommended an additional downspout on one especially long gutter run where the roof line had a wave in it.
We now have gutters that look like they were designed for the house. And we can SEE!
It was great. They did a good job.
Called them in the morning and Ralph met me the same day to provide an Estimate. I scheduled the Work, and the crew was on time and very professional. The work was very clean and precise and they left the site clean when they were done. Gutters and Downspouts look great.
These guys are rock stars. The price was great, the service was excellent and the work they did on my house was perfect. His team banged out all the work in a few hours and my pop outs look better than ever. I’m so glad I finally found these guys. Oh, and they ended up fixing a bunch of my gutter downspouts because the company that did the original installation did it wrong. I don’t believe I was charged for them fixing the downspouts.
Ralph(owner) and his crew were courteous, prompt, cheerful and very professional. The work they performed was nothing short of OUTSTANDING and should be considered the gold standard of raingutter installation. All this at a very, very reasonable price.
I would enthusiastically recommend this company to all that seek unparalleled craftsmanship. They are without a doubt
the best of the best.
Ralph Flores’s crew did a wonderful job. They were efficient, friendly, answered my questions, and left the job clean. I will call them again in the future.
Solved a drainage problem which prior installers had not been able to solve. I’m a happy camper.
I was having my house painted and decided that I should have my gutters replaced first. Contacted Brothers and Ralph came out the same day. He quoted me a fair price and we scheduled the work for two days later. Ralph’s guys showed up on time and did a very good job. Would definitely recommend their services.
The estimate was $1,581.00 for 237 linear feet. I didn’t go w/the provider because another provider came to my house and spent a lot of time showing me his product and walking around with me around the neighborhood comparing it to other people’s rain gutters. He abated my fears and concerns and simply sold me on the work. The price was similar. The reason I write this is more for Brother’s Sheet Metal– I’m sure you do great work, but nothing replaces face to face estimates.
We didn’t hire Brothers Sheet Metal.
“When I first read this review I thought someone wrote it by mistake on our landing page and it was meant for another company but no it was meant for Brothers Sheetmetal…. me! First I want to mention that “the guy” she mentions was me Ralph Flores I was the one that went to this Angie’s List members house. The house I was proposing gutters mentioned is a one story ranch style house with 60% soiled area around the perimeters of the house. She wanted to install sections in certain areas but in order to drain some of these sectional gutters it was essential to install more gutter to drain the downspout to where she wouldn’t have a problem in the future and if she felt I was trying to sell her more gutter because of it then I’m guilty as charged …. In her eyes that is. I want to close out on this by wishing this Angie’s List member the best and I am truly happy she found someone that was able to install gutters sections around the house as she requested. Sincerely Ralph Flores”
Every rain caused a waterfall along the outside wall of our attached garage. The gutters we had in place were not handling the water flow and several rain gutter contractors suggested moving and replacing the gutters. Ralph from Brother’s Sheet Metal assessed the problem and told me that I did not need new gutters, that the placement of a diverter would do the job. After checking all of my rain gutters, he told me that I was fortunate to have galvanized steel gutters and that I should not replace any of them, but simply do some serious maintenance and repair. Of course this was more cost efficient for me. Ralph has been in the business a long time and his honest, down to earth demeanor was very reassuring.
Dealing with Ralph was a pleasure. He was prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable. His crew was efficient and courteous as well. The head man of his crew patiently answered all of my questions. I would hire Brother’s Sheet Metal again.
I actually enjoyed paying for these rain gutters.
I had 4 different companies give bids to install the rain gutters. I immediately liked Ralph from Brothers Sheet Metal because he very clearly explained every step of the process, what kind of materials they used, including the hardware, and where and how they secured the gutters using the hardware.
There were no sales pitches. I felt Ralph respected my intelligence and was proud of his company, which was successful because they enjoyed their work and, being a sheet metal company, specialized in what they did.
I watched a video Ralph posted on YouTube which gave examples of the many and varied homes and buildings, some of them as regal as palaces, where they had installed their rain gutters.
And did I mention their price was $400 less than the other companies?
Ralph was punctual every step of the way, from the first meeting, to the 3 men arriving at 8:00, on the minute. The installers worked quickly and were finished before the anticipated time. They were relaxed and mentioned they had worked for the company for many years. In fact, two of them were also brothers.
The only difficulty was that I kept changing my mind. First I wanted no gutters on the garage. Then I wanted them on one side only. Then both sides. Then changed again and decided I didn’t want them on the garage after all.
Each time Ralph was warm, cheerful and friendly, and said, ‘no problem’, as though he really meant it.
I will never use them again only because the gutters are guaranteed for life.
Can’t beat that!
They did a great job. Gave the most competitive quote, showed up on time, and the installation was flawless. When I wanted an extra extension, they had no problem providing it. I would highly recommend them.
I just bought a house. Its crawlspace got flooded after a heavy rain due of lack of gutter.
Mr Ralph’s reviews are excellent, so I called him.
He came onsite on the same day, nice and knowledgable, and gave me a quote.
In the following week, I asked for 2 more back-to-back quotes. It turned out Mr Ralph’s quote is pretty reasonable. During this process, he contacted me for updates positively and answered my questions patiently.
Later we settled down the date and his workers arrived on time. Those guys are polite and professional. They worked a whole day and did a nice job.
I’m satisfied till now and wait to see if the new gutters work in the next rain season.
The owner- Ralph is an unusually trustworthy, knowledgeable professional. His lucid, straight forward presentation on his various gutter hardware products and installation details is as convincing as it is inviting.
My wife dislikes the conspicuous round-cornered aluminum downsprout with multiple vertical creases. Unlike all other competitors, Ralph, who owns the Brother Sheet Metal Works, was able to offer an unique customer-made alternative – an inconspicuous yet much stronger bondorized steel squarish downsprout that blends so well with the vertical wall, it almost ?disappeared? into the background. Also, Ralph’s seamless aluminum gutters offers two extra ?beads? on both edges that strengthen the structure of the gutter. He also uses 3′ long galvanized hex screws and strong hidden hangers for installation to reinforce the durability and stability of the gutter especially for long stretches. Even more importantly, Ralph’s use of a rarely used method to construct rectangular (90°) bents (instead of using per-farbricated ?sleeves?) is even more appealing both for economy and good looks of the finished gutter system.
Of more than a dozen contractors with whom we have dealt with recently in a few different jobs, Ralph distinctly stands out for his professionalism, attitude and personality for he is a very pleasant yet solid and sincere individual. Ralph’s personal quality and professionalism are well reflected, too, in his three-man crew headed by Jairo. They are punctual, friendly and super efficient yet respectful and patient in responding to customer’s questions and volunteered to do a little extra paint mending on the downspouts. The crew’s skill, meticulousness and attention to details are commendable. In fact, Ralph is so confident of their work, he offers a lifetime warranty covering the materials and craftsmanship for the life of the home.
The work was completed beautifully beyond the expectation of the customers in a day without any bother to us. Working with Ralph and his crew has been our pleasure and we prize it as a rare good fortune. We do hereby recommend Ralph and Brother Sheet Metal exceptionally highly to each and everyone seeking gutter replacement/repair work.
I got two other estimates from Angie’s List contractors for the same work. The real selling point aside from the professional and enthusiatic estimate provided by Ralph Flores, was the company provides a lifetime warranty that cover materials and craftmanship. The price was mid-way between the other two estimates I received. Ralph’s written estimate that clearly detailed the work to be performaed including the lifetime warranty. The work was done very professionally and with little interference to our life. We actually had a good deal of rain in April and the gutters worked perfectlly. They look great too. No doubt I would hire this company again.e
We got 3 estimates. Although Ralph’s estimate was not the lowest, he was the only one of the 3 who came up with a solution to our problem. Our house was built between two hills and water would collect on the northeast side of the house and seep into the foundation. He suggested taking the water down on the northeast side and moving it under the house and out the other side so it ran down the hill instead of collecting and causing problems. Also, even though he did not receive our down payment in time (for some reason the U.S. post office delivered it about 2 weeks after the job was completed, he went ahead and scheduled the job and accepted a replacement check that day and then we mailed the final payment once the job was done. Very professional yet understanding that we were not trying to get out of paying him as agreed. We would definitely use him again.
“We did this job back in July 2011 but I remember it very well because of the underground drain we installed. Well …… It really wasn’t an underground drain it was a under the house drain because your house sat on a sloped area we were able to actually stand up and walk under your home to install the drain going across, no dirt digging involved. Yes and from there it went down the hill but through a drain and onto the street. I am very happy we were able to save you thousands of dollars by not installing the sub pump and drains offered by a drainage company. In this case we resolved it with old school know how! This was a true trouble shooter and this is one of the reasons we don’t have or sent out a “paid gutter estimator” we are Sheetmetal Company with over 23 years of extensive on the field knowledge and we provide each and every estimate ourselves. RF”
I called, they made the appointment, they ended up calling back to figure out what would be best. Ralph Flores came out and talked to me was really a nice fellow, and was very punctual.
When Ralph showed up, I had a few other workers over, and I was very busy. He said not to worry, when I finally got to him, he had already taken all the measurements, and had my bid written up and ready to go.
My wife left a messague for Brothers Sheet Metal on a Wednesday afternoon to set-up an appointment for an estimate to replace and install rain gutters for our home. Sofia returned the call two times and left messages on Thursday. I called Brothers on Friday and left a message. Ralph promptly returned my call and was at the house to give an estimate for the work that afternoon.
Ralph is a super nice guy and his expertise and knowledge about rain gutter installation is top notch. He has been doing this for 22 years. Ralph gave me a quote on the spot and it was very reasonable. My wife and I made the decision to go with Brothers on Saturday and the installation was complete by Tuesday afternoon.
Ralph and his crew were prompt, efficient, quiet and clean. Other than the newly installed rain gutters, you’d never know they were on the property. Ralph took the time to walk around the house and explain where the downspouts would go and accommodated every request.
The installation looks great. I guess we’ll know how it works if and when we ever get some rain.
I highly recommend Brothers Sheet Metal for rain gutters.
Thanks.
Ralph Flores is an excellent person who knows his trade well. He came out to look at my headache of a problem with gutters on the house we just purchased and even though the previous owner had to install a new roof for the purchase to go through, they replaced the old gutters, that were undersized and sectioned instead of seamless, back on the roof.
The old gutters leaked and even overflowed in one section (like Niagra Falls) due to the the fact they were installed in a reverse slope of to the downspout and not enough downspouts.
The overflow was pouring onto the back deck and splashing on the rear wooden door that was being destroyed for years by the problem.
As I am mechanically inclined and nit-picky, I asked Ralph many things and even questioned his remedy of installing standard seamless 5″ gutters (a step up from the current ones) at the proper angle, which the roof slope made difficult due to the sagging of that area, and just adding 2 more downspouts. I didn’t think that would be enough to fix the problem considering the volume of
water that would overflow when it rained hard. He assured me that his remedy would do the trick and went with his decision.
Ralph and his crew arrived right on time and were very friendly. Ralph explained the situation to his team and the foreman was always showing me how they calculated and fabricated their art when I asked. All the corners were custom cut and riveted so there were no fitted joints. (one less area to leak). They completed very skilled work and made everything look so much better. Everything was cleaned up and hauled away.
I was still skeptical about the remedy and couldn’t wait for it to rain again to see how it would do. A few days later at 2:00am, sure enough it did, so I got my flashlight and checked every square inch of the gutters. Like Ralph said, it all worked great!
The rain gutters are beautiful! They look great and match my home. They worked hard to make sure I was pleased with all aspects of the job.
The date of the estimate was miscommunicated and Ralph called to apologize for the confusion.
They did a very good job. They were very clean and on time. They came when they were supposed to. The guy, I think one of the owners, Ralph, was very personable and very courteous. We priced a number of gutters with different companies and we had a horrible time trying to get people to respond. They’d come out and vet it but then they’d never call you back. I did have to wait for Brothers Sheet Metal when they were out here to do the bid and then wait for them to schedule, but when they came back to do everything they got everything done pretty quickly. They finished in the time frame they set and were very neat in cleaning up.
Very pleased with their work and their people.
I hired Ralph and his team to install copper gutters and downspouts on my home over two other firms. The reasons underlying my decision were simple: Brother’s Sheet Metal was by far the most knowledgeable about the job, was able to produce seamless copper gutters onsite using its sheet metal expertise and mobile equipment, and was very price competitive. Ralph was very responsive and delivered exactly what we agreed on. I have no hesitation strongly recommending Brother’s Sheet Metal.
Called on a Fri afternoon for an estimate, left a voice message. Sophia called back about two hours later. She told me Ralph would get back to me Mon or Tues. He never did. I ended up using a different company.
“That is correct this Angie’s List member called on Friday afternoon I called him back left a voice mail on Monday at 10:00 am. I never got a call back so I assumed he must have gotten someone else Ralph Flores”
I received a prompt return call from Ralph Flores when I requested an estimate. Brother’s Sheet Metal was in the middle of the three estimates that I obtained for the work. I was very impressed with Ralph’s assessment of the job. He actually identified issues that a higher bidder did not find. I scheduled the work immediately and although a rain day interfered with my original scheduled day, Ralph kept close contact with me and re-scheduled the work for two days later. The crew was very professional, kept the sites clean and did not damage any plants which was a challenge. They finished the job in under a day. One rain later, I was thrilled to see that all the new
gutters worked perfectly. I would highly recommend Brother’s Sheet Metal.
When I first called, I reached a real person. The estimate appointment was within a couple days. The rep (Ralph?) was thorough and professional and very pleasant. My old gutters had a bend over the front porch that always leaked during the smallest rainfall and then for days afterward, making it difficult to get in and out the front door. The downspouts were misplaced so that water built up around the foundation and seeped into the garage.
It has rained several times since they were installed and there is not ONE DROP near my front porch! YEAH! I even bought a fancy rug for Christmas that covers my whole front step and it stayed dry. I am so very happy with my new gutters!!!
I felt I got very personal attention from the start and that the price of $1,200 was less than I expected. I could not be happier.
The entire process was very professional. Ralph came over to take measurements and give an estimate. We talked about certain aspects that he thought might cause some issues and suggested larger downspouts in certain areas to better handle the water flow. The estimate was on the higher side of two other quotes but the quality and the lifetime warranty on both the product and the work to fix any future problems had me choosing in their favor. My only minor complaint was that they gave no discount for us having taken down the old gutters for them (we had to repair numerous fascia boards that had rotted under the old gutters) – but Ralph explained that it would have been only a minor part of the time his crew needed to be there. We had rain a few days before our scheduled installation date, so they called and asked to move our date a few days out so they could catch up on the installs they had missed — seemed reasonable and caused us no real problem, so we were fine. They came on the second scheduled date and did the install quickly and efficiently. The new gutters look far better than the gutters we replaced (which cost 1/2 the price but may have proved “you get what you pay for”) and we’ve had numerous rains since then and the gutters have performed perfectly – no drips or leaks or overflows. I would highly recommend using Brothers.
They did a great job. The price was very good. I had other bids and their price was better. They were able to complete the job in 1 day. Ralph was very easy to work with, knowledgable and personable. They cleaned up very nicely after the job.
Overall it was a very good experience. The workers were professional, well organized and respecful, and the quality of work appears to be very good. The interaction with Ralph and staff was informative and positive. Still waiting for a good rain to come to really be able to evaluate their work :). The one minor drawback involved scheduling. The company was originally scheduled to arrive on a Wednesday, and we had adjusted our schedule accordingly. Unfortunately we got a call that morning from the company informing us that because there was a threat of rain they would not be able to perform the installation on that day. What was disappointing is that the forecast did not call for rain on that day in our area. In fact, no rain came down in our area for that day. However, they did come right back and perform the work two days later. So I would caution that if you are requesting to have gutters installed during the rainy season, you are subject to weather conditions and must plan accordingly. Pricewise they are excellent in comparison to the others without any drop-off in quality. In the future I would suggest calling the day before to verify that the workers will indeed be coming rather than just expect that they will arrive on their scheduled date and time. This is really a standard that should apply across the board.
In summary, we are happy with the services provided by Brothers and would recommend them to others.
I never thought I could love rain gutters, but I do now! I got an estimate from Ralph and after interviewing 3 companies went with Brothers Sheet Metal. The crew arrived on time, Ralph walked me through the plan, reviewing all the down spout placement in detail. I had particular concerns due to the long overhang on our home and Ralph assured me that these downspouts would hug the eaves and remain as unobtrusive as possible. He wasn’t kidding! I chose the rectangular, bonderized steel downspouts and they are not only beautiful, but very clean and tight to the eaves. The whole idea is to paint them, but I almost don’t want to! The team was responsive and professional, I cannot say enough good things about them.
The work was done on schedule and very efficiently. The entire process from meeting with the estimator to the final work went very smoothly. They matched the color of the gutters to my house trim perfectly. It looks and works great.
It is a fairly simple story. There was a little confusion on the arrival of Brothers to remove the old gutters and receive my down-payment. But this was not of any consequence- and subsequently all work went on schedule and was done with complete professionalism.
See above
It took me a little while to get in touch with these folks, but I am glad I did. I had quotes and site visits with a few companies and did a bunch of research but chose Brothers’ Sheet Metal and am very satisfied with the work. It was done in February so there hasn’t been too much rain since then yet, but I feel confident that they will do the job.
The people got the job done and didn’t try to upsell me or offer a bunch of unnecessary stuff and I appreciate that.
Hooray for my new gutters!
I contacted Brothers Sheet Metal this summer for a quote for my two-story house. Ralph showed up on time to measure the area and sent me a fair quote via e-mail within 2 days. Altough the estimate was made in early August, I was unable to set a date with Ralph until September. I rescheduled the date twice because of the delay of my other home improvement projects and we finally settled the date for late October. Ralph’s team showed up on time the morning of the day and it took them 1& 1/2 days to complete the project and they did an excellent job. I enjoyed working with Ralph: he and his team are puctual and efficient. They performed a professional and neat job from start to end.
They were very professional and did excellent work. They were very clean. They were pleasant to deal with and I would reccomend them to others. They were the lowest bid of the (3) bids I received.
Went wonderfully.
From
obtaining the bid to completion of the work, the entire process moved efficiently and as anticipated.
Ralph Flores
responded promptly to the call for an estimate.
He explained various options concerning size of gutter, gutter and downspout placement, gutter fastening options for the particular roof styles (two roof segments comprising the total residential roof).
The work was completed in two phases. First,
installation of the approx. 200
feet of 5?
gutter and downspouts. The work began
early morning, and was completed that day in a workmanlike and professional
manner. As per Ralph?s recommendation,
the gutter hangers were fastened into roofing boards, underneath Spanish
S-tiles (existing roof), rather than into the stucco wall. This provided additional strength
Another portion of the roof needed a different approach than using the conventional roof gutter. Ralph had suggested a metal diverter. Ralph showed both approaches, by holding actual examples of each, gutter and diverter, in place at the roof line. This facilitated the decision to go with the metal diverter.
Approx. 60 feet of metal diverter subsequently was fabricated and installed as a 2nd phase of the total work. This installation began early morning and was completed the same day. The work was completed in a workmanlike and professional manner.
I recommend Brothers Sheet Metal to any potential customer interested in rain gutters and related metal fabrication, e.g., metal diverters.
Brother’s Sheet Metal did an excellent job! Ralph responded to my call for an estimate immediately. He never tried to sell me on anything other than what I asked for but was very informed on all options. When his team led by foreman Jairo did the work they were on time, very professional and cleaned up after they finished. Although originally I felt the price was high, by the time they completed the job it was clearly worth every penny. I had been having a hard time finding a company that could do a custom inlaid gutter on a 1927 built Spanish style home but Ralph knew exactly what to do. Three of the seven companies I called for estimates didn’t even send me estimates after looking at the job. Ralph took pictures and kept me informed of all that they were doing. I would absolutely use Ralph and Brothers Sheet Metal again if I have more gutter work. I highly recommend them to anyone. If only having work done on one’s home was always this easy!
This was the first company I used since subscribing to Angie’s List and it couldn’t have gone better.
Ralph showed up on on time, looked at the job made some suggestion’s and came up with a price that I thought was very fair.
His crew showed up on time and did the work quickly and very professionally. I was very pleased when they were done.
If every company I hire is as good as this one I’ll be very happy.
Gutters are serviced well and all issues are dealt with. Very professional company.
From start to finish the work was fast and efficient. What we discusses, was what was done. I recommend him to anyone.
Ralph & team did an excellent job. We were rained out the day I originally scheduled and Ralph promptly re-arranged his schedule to accommodate me. The team showed up on time on the day of the job and completed it in one day just as discussed. Overall I enjoyed working with Ralph. I found him to be a very honest and well spoken person. He listened to what I described and suggested options that would save money without sacrificing quality. I found him to be very trustworthy and would not hesitate to work with him again in the future. There isn’t much more you can ask for in a contractor than that!
Brothers Sheetmetal did a fantastic job on the 6″ half round gutters they installed on our house. The downspouts were installed perfectly. Very happy.
Ralph and his team were on time and very professional. We ordered custom gutters to fit our fascia board and they look gre
I contacted Brothers Sheetmetal as one of two companies that would give me an estimate on installing gutters on my house. Ralph arrived promptly and was extremely nice to deal with. He surveyed the house and garage, took measurements, discussed pros and cons of gutter placement, colors, etc. He was very thorough and explained everything. He sent me a formal proposal that was quite reasonable, especially with the angie’s list discount.
Why did I end up not going with Brothers Sheetmetal? No good reason. I just had to choose between two good companies. I’m confident that if I went with Brothers Sheetmetal I would have been very satisfied. Based on my experience with them for the first part of the process, I would recommend them to anyone.
Showed up on time for the estimate and considered multiple options for solving the unique issues for the multi-level home. They recommended a nice design and implemented the plan on time and at the quoted cost. I am very happy with their work and look forward to the first rain to get a real test under our belt.
Called 3 companies. Ralph of Brother’s Metal was the first to come out. He was informative as to types of gutters and what he thought would look best with my home. His written proposal was very professional including not only specs but references and insurance coverage.
I got another bid that was lower and I spoke with Raplh and asked him to explain the differences in pricing. He really worked with me and I felt his product was superior and therefore justified a higher price.
The guys that put up the gutters were on time and did a great job. Would not hesitate to recommend.
They provided an estimate back in May but because there of the reroofing that had been previously scheduled and took longer than expected, the actual installation of the gutters was not done till mid-June. They performed exactly as promised; responsive and very professional; provided a competitive price; and give lifetime warranty on their work. I would definitely recommend them.
Overall the experience was surprisingly pleasing. When we bought our house one of the first things on my list to get done was to install gutters. The house was about 10 years old and never had gutters installed. I researched many companies on the internet and called a few. When I spoke with Ralph, he seemed knowledgeable and pleasant on the phone and when we met he was the same in person. I had a few concerns with the existing flashing that didn’t appear to be finished very well in the corners and I didn’t want any downspouts in the front of the house. Ralph said the they are a sheet metal company and the flashing wouldn’t be a problem and he calculated the roof square footage and said that the 6 inch gutters could carry the water to the sides of the house so they could configure the downspouts as I had requested. The quote was great, it had a diagram with a detailed layout of the gutters and downspouts, two pages of local references, their brochure with a brief description of the product and FAQ’s, a copy of their workers comp insurance, and liability insurance (very thorough and complete). I was eager to get started but found out that they were booked for the next three weeks and the color gutters we wanted was not in stock. Luckily the order and scheduling came together about the same time and the gutters were installed on the day and time promised. Ralph left me his cell phone number to call if I had any questions or observations about the installation down the road. The gutters and the color looked great, they accented and enhanced the appearance of our home. I kidded with Ralph later on the phone that I actually was hoping for a little rain and he kidded back, I hope it pours!
Great service, quality, product and company.
Working with Brothers Sheet Metal was a wonderful experience. From our first meeting (free evaluation + estimate) through to the job being completed the crew were nothing short of spectacular. I highly recommend.
Mr. Ralph Flores from Brother’s Sheet Metal was great. On the day of the estimate, he proposed two different options of raingutters for my mother’s two-story home. When it came time to install the new raingutters and downspouts on the house, he and his crew were at the house right on time and ready to work. They were very professional and worked very efficiently even though it was raining off and on throughout the day. In the end, the aluminum Box-45 raingutter with smooth mitered downspouts that Mr. Flores suggested really fit the architectural style of the house and it looked incredible afterwards. Overall, my experience with Brother’s Sheet Metal was great from start to finish. They did an incredible job and they left the property clean and tidy. The house looks great with the new raingutters and downspouts. My mom was also very satisfied with the look of the house and their work.
Ralph came to the house to give an estimate and we decided to go with him based on his knowledge and experience with copper (he also did not try to oversell). The first date of installation, they had to reschedule but I didn’t hear from anyone until I called to check on things. Due to the mix-up, they upgraded our catch basins, which we absolutely love. The installation went very well and his guys were responsive whenever we wanted to make slight adjustments to the gutters and downspouts. He also found non-standard copper downspout endings when we were unhappy with the way the standard ones looked.
My story is simple. Ralph showed up for estimate on the day I called them. He is a GREAT guy to deal with. Honest and upfront. Estimate was reasonable and included Angie’s discount on labor. 10 days later, on the day they were supposed to show up they arrived on time. The work was completed. The product is fantastic. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Short call, quick answer..
“This Angie’s List member is correct we DO NOT install plastic gutters. Plastic or vinyl gutters are an inferior product more of a do it yourself, handy man project which will leak from day one! but he is incorrect where he states that we are limited on what we install with our sheetmetal background we install and fabricate from all types of sheetmetal products. This Angie’s List member is also incorrect on “going green” by installing plastic gutters. We remove vinyl gutters from homes all the time and we have tried recycling it and searching for companies that might take it but nobody wants it! No CRV label, No recycling label at this point nobody wants it! Something to do with the type of plastic “labeled toxic plastic” so its ends up in the dump. So what is the greener choice? You decide. RF”
Very knowledgable, and very clear about about what they would do. We were very concerned about the aesthetic and they offered good choices. They did have to reschedule twice last minute. Once due to an equipment failure. But in the end they did a great job and were very accommodating.
I contacted Ralph after seeing the reviews on Angie’s List and was not disappointed. The job started with a consultation to determine how to best repair a poorly performing rain gutter system by a different installer from several years ago. On one side of the house, the gutter had become detached. On another side, the pitch was wrong and the gutters were leaking over the edge. All around the gutters were poorly installed – not properly inclined/level and so they weren’t catching much of the water at all. Setting up the initial appointment was easy and I dealt directly with Ralph. He called the morning of our initial appointment to reschedule due to a rush job and cross-town traffic, which I found great service. As we walked around the house, it was apparent that he was knowledgeable and honest about what he could and could not do, and where it it made sense to use the existing materials versus requiring new materials and a complete redo. He pointed out where the previous installer had taken short cuts and what had led to the problems I was having with the gutters. We settled on the particulars of what needed to be estimated and he left. I felt that I was on a good path with Ralph. He was easy to talk to, and knew his stuff. Over the next couple of weeks, we settled on the estimate, and the particulars of the job (colors, materials, options, etc), and picked an installation date. Ralph’s honesty and integrity came through during this process, and he even suggested to me getting bids from other installers to ensure I was comfortable with his bid. The evening before the installation, Ralph called to confirm the appointment (he didn’t get a hold of me, but he came on schedule and on time). He walked through the job with me, and his crew, and we talked about a few minor clarifications and delta-pricing (which he was very giving on). He left, and left his crew of 2 to do the job. They worked diligently through out the day and got the job done on time and expertly. At the end of the day, his lead crew man walked me through what they had done and answered my questions. I happily paid the remainder of the bill. It has yet to rain, but I could see the crew had tested the work they had done with a hose. I expect to have no problems with the work and expect to call Ralph when we install some rain barrels.
We are a movie and television studio and several of our sound stages needed new large commercial size gutters. We needed a company who could work with a very flexible schedule, do to the nature of our work . While taping is going on in the stages there can’t be any outside noise. Ralph from Brothers Sheet Metal was very cooperative in working with us. It took longer than it normally would have because of this but together we got the work done and we are very satisfied with the result.
Ralph, from the company, came out to give me an estimate. I was asking him if he felt that we should replace the gutters entirely or simply repair them. Another company had tried to sell me on replacing them entirely with new gutters. Ralph explained how they could be adequately repaired and how he felt that would be preferable as unless we had new gutters custom made, which would be prohibitively expensive, the currently available pre-made or extruded gutters were of a sort that wouldn’t fit our architecture all that well. His bid was quite reasonable and included a three year guarantee of all the work. The other company said that they wouldn’t even try to repair the gutters. Sold.
Ralph and two workmen showed up on the morning scheduled, right on time. I walked around the house with Ralph while he explained what they were planning to do. When it came to the downspouts that needed to be extended he pointed out a way in which one could be routed directly into a drain and he offered to do that for the cost of the materials alone – which wasn’t much. It was a great idea. The work was done quickly, neatly, everything cleaned up afterwards.
It poured rain about a week after the work was done and everything was perfect. The drains that had caused problems before – leaking, overflowing, downspouts creating puddles next to the foundation of the house, etc. were no longer any problem at all.
I really don’t know how we could be any happier with the work that was done or with our interactions with the company. I am, of course, hoping we won’t need their services again anytime in the near future, but if and when we do we won’t hesitate to call them.
I first called Brother Sheet Metal in November of last year. I talked to Ralph and he was very accommodating to meet me at my house early in the morning before I had to leave for work. We went over the requirements, and he did a bunch of measurements. Within a few days we had an estimate, and I called to make some changes. A few days later I had an updated estimate.
I sent the estimate back, and then talked to Ralph and he said they were a few weeks backed up, but could come in mid December. That was fine with me, so we scheduled a date. On the night before they were going to come out, I got a call and Ralph told me they had an issue with one of their cutting machines, and that he’d need to get a new part. They had to reschedule, and I said that was fine. The part took longer than expected, and they had to reschedule again. Ralph was very apologetic.
A few days before the new date, he called again. He said they had a very big job they really needed to finish, and he asked me if it would be ok if they rescheduled one more time. Because of the fact that he asked, and was very humble in doing so, I told him that this one last time it would be ok. He assured me that this was the last reschedule.
They did show up on the last reschedule date, and Ralph went over the final details of the work with me before starting. It took 2 days to finish the job, and I was very impressed and happy with the work. The gutters look great, and are very sturdy. While it hasn’t rained a lot this winter, it has rained a few times, and they have made a great improvement in how much water is hitting the perimeter of our house.
Ralph and his crew were very professional, and despite the minor hiccups with rescheduling, I would absolutely recommend this company to handle your gutters. They did an amazing job and the price was reasonable.
had received one quote from another local company that came in 30% higher (!) than the Brother’s Sheetmetal quote. Not only that, the competitor was going to chop off the ends of my rafters and just slap in a common contemporary style gutter. I was so relieved when Ralph Florez assured me that their plan was to match my original gutter style and thereby maintain the architectural integrity of the house. While the project was delayed slightly by poor weather, the workmen arrived on schedule and completed the job with pleasant professionalism, and left my outdoor area immaculate. The final product is just terrific and I am SO GLAD I chose Brothers Sheet Metal to replace the gutters on my historic home.G
I couldn’t be more pleased with the work they performed. They were prompt, professional, did just what they said they would do on schedule. They even installed some flashing and an extra downspout at no extra cost and cleaned the area of all debris and old materials. I would highly recommend to others interested in gutter work.
Ralph came out promptly to give us an estimate, calling ahead within about a half hour before he was to arrive. We discussed the types of gutters available and options for where the downspouts would go for good drainage from our rather flat roof. He brought a color chart as well as samples to help us decide the color. He was friendly and professional. A proposal with a chart of where the downspouts were to go was e-mailed to us within a day. The coupon I had from Angie’s list was figured into the price without question
.An installation date was decided upon but they called the day before to ask if it could be moved back a few days as there was an unexpected problem with their current job (husband and wife divorcing; dispute over the gutters and Brothers ended up having to do the job over again or something. Ralph had to personally supervise to make sure they didn’t contest the job again). It was not ideal for us but doable so we said o.k.
The workers came on time the day of the job and were efficient and polite. They didn’t speak English very well but it wasn’t much of a problem. We had told Ralph we’d appreciate our plants not being trampled on and the workers were good about it. They did a nice job and the gutters have handled the rain well.
The only little quibble is in the area of communication. We had discussed one tricky area of where a downspout should go so that it drains down our driveway and looks the best from the street. Ralph’s diagram didn’t have the details of exactly how it would go down the wall. By the time we had our job done (almost 6 weeks after the estimate), we had forgotten how it should go. The workers didn’t know those details so we had to figure it out again. It would have been helpful to have Ralph there at this point. The workers gave suggestions but English was a problem so we didn’t understand all the pros and cons of which way the downspout should go. We didn’t consider that we’d see the gutters out our kitchen window doing it the way we eventually chose. Perhaps the guy was trying to tell us that but we didn’t get it. We’re not 100% happy with this little area but it’s not a big deal. In retrospect we would have called Ralph to see if he remembered and could tell us what we’d previously decided.
We were very happy with the work done by Brothers! They were courteous and patient and answered all our questions. Ralph gave us good advice on the best location for downspouts and on proper color to blend with our existing guttering. We were completely satisfied with the finished work.
We found Brothers on Angie’s List because of the great reviews. We had interviewed other providers and decided to go with Brothers because of two reasons, price and the fact that Ralph came out to quote the job and he was very knowledgeable. I had been out of town and mistakenly forgot to give Ralph a check for the fabrication costs up front, totally my mistake. When a date is agreed on for installation, they send you a google calendar invite that you accept so that there is no question about the agreed upon time. The installation was quick and exactly what we had hoped for. We will use them again for our next phase.
Ralph was very pleasant to deal with, I had found Brother’s because my neighbor’s had used them the year before. After getting the estimate, I also contacted several of their previous clients, because I wanted to be sure that I was entrusting my home to a company that was reliable. The reviews came back positive so I decided to go ahead. (Their estimate was pretty close to the other I received from another sheet metal/gutter company) The crew that did the job were very nice and polite and brave. I live on a steep hill and they were working on a high roof!!! I am very happy that Ralph was able to match my gutters, the bonderized steel is almost too pretty to paint!
We found Ralph and his company on this website. Since the reviews were pretty good, we decided to call him for an estimate. We needed to have gutters placed on our house as we just completed some remodeling work and did not have any gutters on our house. He came out on time and created a nice, professional looking estimate. The price was not the lowest, but was not the highest either. The entire job took about 2 days to complete and we were happy with the results. He walked us through the entire job prior to starting to make sure all the colors were right and we pin pointed the location of down spouts. Since our house has many roof lines, it was important for us not to have any gutters drain onto shingles of another roof. He accommodated our request.
Overall, his team came out on time and completed the task as promised. However, we did have to wait a few weeks to get onto his schedule as he was very busy. We are very happy with the results and would use his services again if and when needed.
My only complaint with this company is that it takes a while to get an appointment. They will schedule an appointment immediately, but you may have to wait 2-3 weeks before they can do your work. But that’s because they are in such high demand, and reasonably so! From the first time I contacted Brother Sheet Metal, I was given Ralph’s cell phone number so that I could call him directly with any questions that I had. And, because I had 3 other rain gutter companies come out and give us quotes, I had plenty of questions. What size of rain gutters do you propose? How will you hang them (hidden hangars or traditional nails and screws)? What is the space between each nail holding the rain gutter to the fascia? CAN YOU PUT RAIN GUTTERS ON TOP OF THE PERGOLA? Ralph answered all of these questions, and more, in a professional and courteous manner. I’m certain that we had a relatively small job for these guys, but that did not stop them from giving us the best customer service.
On the day that the work was scheduled, the guys showed up right on time, which was at 8am because I had to leave for work by 8:30am. I showed them the electrical outlets, we walked around and looked at all the drain spots. They were concerned about one, which was clogged. They checked the flow using water from a hose, and they determined that it was too clogged, and could cause an overflow if they fit the down spot in the drain. They recommended that I have it snaked, and, for the time being, put on an elbow and offered to come back at no charge to fit the down spout into the drain after I have it cleaned (I will do that this weekend). After that, I was off to work (right on time), and when I came back, I not only had beautiful rain gutters and down spots that matched the color of my house, but I also discovered that the guys locked up the gates to the back yard before they left. How nice!
It rained heavily this past weekend. The rain gutters seemed to work great. They caught the flow of water from the roof, and none of the down spouts connected to the drains over flowed. I am very happy with the work they completed, and even happier that I picked a company that offers a LIFETIME guarantee on materials AND craftsmanship!! Yes, they were a hair more expensive than the other companies, but no one else could match this guarantee or, as I have mentioned before, offer the same kind of work. I will definitely be in touch with Ralph again.
Men were courteous and very professional even the beagle like them. They came out promptly. They clean up after themselves very well. I would call them instantly.
I had a great experience with Brothers Sheet Metal from beginning to end. Ralph Flores came out to give me an estimate on 1/18/2012. I appreciated how thorough he was in looking at locations of each downspout and determining how rain could be properly drained away from the house. The old gutters were a combination of painted steel and vinyl; many of the downspouts weren’t properly connected or placed. After getting some other estimates, I decided on this company based on their professionalism and detailed estimate and references (as well as all the good reviews on Angie’s List)! The work was originally scheduled for February 24, but after I told Ralph that I hoped we could have it done sooner, he called and said they had an opening on Saturday, February 11. He and his crew showed up that morning and they worked diligently to remove all of the old gutters and get the new gutters installed before it started raining. As luck would have it though, it not only started sprinkling, it poured! The workers stayed for awhile, hoping the rain would stop, but unfortunately, it didn’t and it was starting to get dark, so they had to leave before the downspouts were installed. I called Ralph and he reassured me they’d come back as soon as they could to finish the job, which they did on Monday afternoon. The new gutters look great and seem to work well, although we’ve only had a little rain since they were installed.
Just fine…always there when i called and the workmanship was great.
easy and fast
These guys are great. Really knowledgeable, impressive references and very fairly priced (especially with the AngiesList coupon). They came early the day that they promised and got a job that was scheduled for 2 days done in just one. One of the best contractor experiences that we’ve had.
It was a little difficult in the beginning to get somebody out to give us an estimate. I had seen Brothers work in the neighborhood and was intent on using them, so I was patient and eventually scheduled an appointment with Ralph Flores. He arrived on time and gave us an estimate. The final invoice reflected that quote. Scheduling a time for the installation was tricky, as they were booked for weeks. However, as it turned out they had a cancellation and were able to accommodate us much sooner than anticipated. The work was done as discussed during our first meeting. The workers were knowledgable and very friendly. Ralph had made some suggestions regarding the style and color of our gutters and he advised us well. We are very pleased with the look and will have Brothers back this year to replace the remaining gutters.
After contacting and interviewing three top gutter installation companies from Angie’s List, Brothers Sheet Metal was selected because of their recommendations on how to install the new gutters on three sides and integrate them with the existing back gutters. They also recommended additional gutter modifications that would improve the drainage from the flat roof at a reasonable cost.
The primary point of contact from the estimate to the completion of the work was with Mr. Ralph Flores, who proved to be informative and attentive. The workers who performed the work were excellent, highly experienced and communicative.
We highly recommend Brothers Sheet Metal and were extremely satisfied with our interaction with them and the quality of the work they performed.
Came for estimate, on time, polite, intelligent, factual, realistic, creative.
Job completed as estimated, on time, on budget. Nice personnel, totally professional.
After interviewing 4 companies I chose Brothers sheetmetal to install my gutters.RALPH FLORES WAS WAS THE INTIAL CONTACT AND SALES PRSON I MET> HE EDUCATED ME ABOUT THE FEW THINGS I HADNT LEARNED FROM THE OTHER INTERVIEWS> THE PRICE HE QUOTED WAS AMONG THE BEST OFFERS> THAT BEING SAID THE PRODUCT WAS PROBABLY MUCH SUPER TO THE REST> ALL OF MY CONCERNS AND COMUNICATIONS WERE PROMPTLY HANDELED BY RALPH TRUELY A SATISFYING EXPRIENCE
I decided to call Brothers Sheet Metal after reading reviews on them from Angie’s List. I got a quote from 2 other companies but we decided to hire Brothers. Ralph Flores was our contact. He was personable yet professional, responsive to our needs (we needed them installed ASAP) and quoted us a competitive price. We were very pleased with the quality of their work, and since having the new gutters installed we haven’t had the leaking problems we had previously. We were very happy with the company and Ralph was a pleasure to work with. We would definitely use them again and recommend them to friends.
I got an estimate. We set a date for installation. The crew showed up on time. They did perfect work. They cleaned everything up. The next day they hauled the old gutters away. The rain came and the gutters performed perfectly.
When I called the company, I was able to schedule an estimate within one week. Ralph arrived on time and provided a straight forward, reasonably priced estimate. Three days before the planned installation date, I received a call informing me that the installation could happen 2 days earlier. I agreed and they came out on a saturday morning at 8:30 sharp. The installation was completed by the afternoon. They installers were polite, neat and professional. We’ve had rain since and the gutters work great.

Ralph showed up on time for the estimate. My wife and I appreciated that he got up on a ladder to show us how the two types of gutter styles would look on the house. That was very helpful. We selected the “Box 45” style which now looks great for our type of house. None of the other gutter companies even showed us this gutter style.
The next day, Ralph e-mailed a very professional looking estimate, along with copies of his Workers Comp and Cert. of Insurance. His price wasn’t the most expensive, and not the cheapest. Somewhere in the middle. Ultimately, it was the right price for the quality of workmanship and materials we received.
Actual job took 1 day. The 3 installers were very nice and professional. The gutters fit in seamlessly onto the house, and look great. Had some rain just a few days later, and they worked like a charm.
You know you’re getting quality workmanship when other contractors comment on how nice the gutters look. We’ve gotten that from several people. Thanks to Ralph and his crew for a great job.
From my first contact with Ralph F. back in the spring I knew that Brothers Sheet Metal was a cut above the competition. I obtained three (3) proposals for my gutter installation project. My 1954 ranch is an open rafter design, meaning that their is no facia board nailed to the end of the rafters. We’ve been in the home for 1-1/2 years. Gutter installation was likely forestalled for years prior to our ownership because it wasn’t obvious how to install gutters in light of the open rafter design. Brothers was the only company that:
Knew right off the bat how to deal with the open rafter design of the roof. One of the competitors scratched his head, the other didn’t even discuss it. The brackets aren’t visible and they result in a superior installation from a structural standpoint.
Talked about esthetics at all. The home has a long, low profile that makes for a marvelous curb appeal and Ralph knew how to protect it with the lower profile half-rounds rather than a deeper, boxier gutter style. After the install you can’t really notice them from the street.
The crew was prompt, courteous and professional. The job took a day and half and now our home is protected from any further foundation damage due to a lack of rain gutters. Brothers was not the cheapest but I was impressed with Ralph’s level of knowledge and the outstanding quality of the installation. My property has drainage issues and gutters are the most important part of the solution.
I was impressed with the quality of the materials used, and the expertise of the labor. Everything went well.
They are very good. They did really good job. They were lowest in price. They were knowledgeable. They did a fantastic job. They came in 10% below in price than others. I would use them in the future.
I approved the bid and then I was scheduled to have the work performed 2 weeks later. Ralph called that prior to the appointment to inform me that they were on their way. The foreman reviewed all the work again with me and began working immediately. They worked harmoniously with my tree trimmers and were very neat. Once the work was complete the forman walked around my property with me to ensure that I was satisfied. Any changes I requested they made.
no story..they delivered what we wanted.- for metal canopies.. they can’t be beat. Ask for Ralph Flores.
after i places a call a rep came and gave me the estimate 50% cheaper than i got before. They were on time, performed the whole service as planned, no hidden costs.
As a busy working parent, my time is very limited. So, when it was time to do this project, I came straight to Angie’s List to compile my list of who I would call for estimates. From my experience, I will tell you that this is the company you should call first. And most likely, you will not need to make any additional calls. Ralph was prompt, courteous, professional and extremely knowledgeable. Furthermore, it is his family business and most reassuring to be working directly with him. He provided the estimate and made sure to oversee and check the work in detail once it was completed. The downspouts were made specially in order to match the other trim on our home, something no other company offered to do. And the best part of all, their price was completely unmatched. I got excellent product, beautiful craftsmanship and the most competitive price. It was a total win and a pleasure to work with this company. Call Ralph now!
It took several call to reach them and get an answer (despite leaving several messages) to find out that they do not work with HOAs / condos; so they are of noi use to me.
“Yes this Angie’s List member called us twice. One time was after hours and the other today during business hours and Sophia at our office took the message. I returned the phone call and talked to her and after finding out it was HOA / Condos I proceeded to explain to her that due to our insurance limitations we are not allowed to work on condos. Unfortunately this is becoming more common due to multiple and unfair claims against HOA’S. I hope you find the right company with the proper insurance. Sincerely Ralph Flores Brothers Sheetmetal”
